Hello,
I am currently on Fedora 33, I would like to use OBS to stream games, but I can only use window capture and screenshot modes, is it possible to have game captures?
Sorry for my English, I'm French.
Thank you !
I'm using OBS 26.0.2 on Ubuntu 20.04. My desktop resolution is 2560x1440 and I am noticing that when I use the Screen Capture (XSHM) source, my "Average time to render frame" jumps up to around 4.0ms, and I'm not sure if this is normal for linux or not. I know that in windows, with Display...
Hi all,
I'm posting this here in case anybody else finds it helpful. I was running into an issue with OBS (both the 25.x.x and 26.x.x series) where the embedded preview widow would always be black, no matter which sources I added. The windowed and fullscreen previews worked just fine, however...

Hi, I was running a live stream in OBS and did a system upgrade, but when I tried to open OBS again, I got the "failed to initialize video gpu not supported linux" message. I tried the solution that I found online, running the command LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTARE=1 obs on the terminal, but it didn't...

Just bought the StreamCam and was wondering why it couldnt run with 60 FPS in OBS. Probably some others have the same issue.
A simple solution is to create a new video device with V42L (v4l2loopback) and a ffmpeg stream from the Webcam.
first create a loopback video device
sudo modprobe...
So, guys I have a NAS and store everything on it. But for some reason it does not work with linux.
On windows I have added the path to the server and it works but on my linux PC it does not.
When giving a path to the OBS picture I do //server_ip/path/to/pic.png
Any ideas?
My platform is linux (sabayon, gentoo based binary distro). I am only able to stream using the stream key. Login using the password option does not even appear in my settings. Was that removed?
I just wish to edit stream title and description from within obs.
OBS is version 25.0.8.
I started to build an OBS Studio creation on a linux box.
How can I copy it to a Windows-10 OS? Which files, where are these located on the linux (ubuntu) box? Where to put these on the Windows-10 box?
Searched the web with no results...
Please be kind, I have just 3 hours of experience with...

Hi folks,
I'm trying to install from the ubuntu PPA. Whilst I'm aware that Ubuntu != Debian - using Ubuntu PPAs on debian generally works. However, the OBS install instructions for linux appear to be broken:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio
Latest stable release of OBS...
When I attempt to browse for an Image, OBS crashes, this was not happening yesterday (or days prior). I have rebooted, to no avail. Not entirely sure what to do here as there are no crash logs produced. I took an strace and I'm uploading that, hopefully that helps. I should also note that this...
OS: Ubuntu Server 20.04
SLS version: 1.4.6
SRT version: 1.4.1
OBS Linux version: 25.0.8
Not sure what I am doing wrong here! The SRT server is running smoothly (https://github.com/Edward-Wu/srt-live-server). I can even add the server as media source in OBS on Windows, and it plays really nicely...
All the guides Ive seen for troubleshooting this have been about the Windows version. If it helps Im running Ubuntu, Xenial, and my DE is LXDE. Im also running the whole thing through Crouton if that helps. It seems like it can take still images for the thumbnail of the file, but the audio...
Hello,
I have a Plugable Nix Capture Card, which works multiplatform (Windows, Mac, *nix). I have been able to configure everything on my Windows partition perfectly, but with Linux (Mint 19.3), I have been unable to capture audio at all with the device. Not sure what I should be doing, I've...

I am streaming from my Linux laptop using OBS and I helped a friend to set up OBS for windows and he suddenly has those lovely features such as chat or setting the Stream title from OBS for twitch. So that was new for me and I looked all over my installation without finding anything.
When I...
Hi, I've recently installed OBS on my Fedora 31 computer, and I've compiled and installed the obs-v4l2sink plugin as well. This is working fine, however I double clicked on the video source "Video Capture Device" in OBS, and it made my camera very red. These changes automatically persisted even...
