WMV file option?

I have Sony Vegas 8.0 and it doesn't let me import the video only the audio, and I asked what was the problem and was told that OBS recordings only work with Vegas 12 and up. (Haven't made any new Sony Vegas's) But I was wondering if maybe a WMV option would help my case and if so will be implemented? Because I think MP4 is kind of an odd file type (might not be but I don't have a lot of knowledge on this.

Interesting, who told you OBS recordings only work in 12.0 and up? I'm fairly sure it works in earlier versions, though I'm not sure which earlier versions.

Anyway, OBS will support recording to any file type that FFMPEG can write in the OBS rewrite.

That might have been me, though I'm pretty sure it's 11 and up.
