Bug Report Windows 10 DirectX issue (Will not install OBS)

I am not sure if there is a post on this or not (I did a quick glance before posting). I recently installed the software on a new Windows10 PC I just built. The application worked fine on my old PC running Win8.1. On that PC, I had DirecX 11.0 installed. As I went to install this software on the new PC, it prompted me with a message saying it needed to install DirectX and could not continue unless it did so. This new PC has DirectX 11.2 installed. Assuming I needed to upgrade to a new DirextX release, I clicked the link. However, the OBS link took me to an old DirectX9 page on Microsoft, which is obviously outdated by several versions. Knowing that this application works perfectly fine with DirectX 11, I assume this is a possible bug with the software and interaction with Windows10?

I am currently unable to install the software obviously, as it terminates if I tell it no.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

then if this is the case, what components are they and where would I find them? the link in OBS takes me to the 9.0C download page. Even if I wanted to downgrade to 9.0, run the app, then upgrade to 11 I couldn't because as far as I know, 9.0 will not run on this version of Windows. Also, I didn't have to do this on any other PC I have ever installed this application on.

I got it going. As I mentioned, Windows 10 will not install the 9.0C from the link because it is only compatible with versions up to Win7 (supposedly) and it terminated the install with that error message and provided a list of supported Windows versions. I happened to find some site that had all of the individual cabinet files and installed it back door which seemed to do the trick. I then installed OBS and it took.

So, I apologize for calling it a bug, however, it would be nice if we can perhaps build it with these issues in mind rather than having users troubleshoot all of this.
