Bug Report When things load it makes sound stutter

So, I've tinkered with a lot of the settings to see if I can solve this problem but so far after about a hour or so of tinkering nothing fixes my problem. What I noticed is something is wrong with my sound when something either loads Sc2 for example loads and my sound stutters. So I tried things to make it less stressful on my CPU to see if that would solve it but nothing. So I don't know what the problem is I saw the thread on sound problems but I can hear sound it sounds good but just random stutters is my only problem. I really want to use this program so please halp.

Comp specs.

I7 930 Bloomfield overclocked 3.5ghz
6gb triple channel ram
470 GTX Geforce
according to speed test 1.9 upload (I use 1100 for stream)

Thanks in advance if you need any more information or idea's on how to fix let me know.

Could you check to see if this is related to the 7.1 audio? For example, disabling 7.1 and just going stereo in windows sound settings to see if there's any difference?

evening I just tried what you suggested and went ahead and tried the other options as well quadraphonic etc. None of them produced any fixes. I had a good feeling about it to I thought that would be the fix when you mentioned it. But, ya not fixed =(. Just to let you know about my sound setup how things are hooked up if any of that matters. I have my headphone plugged into my on board sound card. Bose surround sound system plugged into the same card. And my mic is plugged into the integrated mic jack on the mobo.

Thanks for the response.

edit; Just tried the 0.467 Alpha test 2 to see if that would fix with stereo change didn't work either.

Hmm.. Could you see if maybe other apps on the system are contributing to the problem? For example, shut down like all the apps on your system you can and see if it still gets a stutter? Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure what to suggest. Does this stuttering only occur on stream? Or does it only occur on your end, or both?

Found the problem but don't know how to fix it. I simply unplugged my mic and played with only sound didn't hear a single stutter or drop in sound while playing and with music as well on spotify. And I can't use any other mic because my sound card doesn't have a mic outlet only my motherboard has the mic outlet. Any ideas? :D thanks for your help as well.

Sorry for the extra post but I did a record on my stream to show the problem I'm having it occurs both on my side and stream side. http://www.twitch.tv/lokinhelladeep/b/358986338. The first couple seconds you will hear it. Then when I start to do things like open SC2 for example you will also hear the stutters / drops which is 11 seconds onward.

Yes, I'm able to hear the problem. Do you have the newest drivers installed? Especially for the soundcard and the GPU.
Try streaming with the task manager always visible and sorted by CPU usage, while you do stuff that make the sound lag. Then show me the video here.

sorry went got some food downloading gpu driver. Sound card is good for drivers. I'll edit this post soon with a video and task manager open.

http://www.twitch.tv/lokinhelladeep/b/359004513 18 seconds , 50 seconds around there. It did seem to lessen my stuttering. When I opened SC2 I don't think I really heard anything. But I did a preview stream just now and basically same issue so it seems kind of random. I even let it idle sometimes and it'll drop as well. So it isn't when I open something to make it stutter.

Okay so I feel I followed the guide correctly by installing the program. Parkcontrol and put the settings correct. So now the sound is actually worse. BUT on my side only lol. Stream side it's perfect no drops etc. but on my side it's doing the same thing except worse more drops / stutters etc. Here's the video while I was testing showing CPU again. http://www.twitch.tv/lokinhelladeep/b/359028833

Yeah it sounds ok watching it. You should definitely reboot if you didn't already.
Next things you can do is, turning off the onboard sound in your BIOS as you no longer need it, shutting down all other applications that record or play back sound(I saw Skype in your resource monitor) and then test again.

Also, please tell me which sound card you have and if the issues you are experiencing now after turning off core parking only occur when you use OBS or if they are always there.

ya same problem with sound and I disabled all realtek stuff so it's just my sound card only. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6829102003 my sound card. There website last update was like along ass time ago which always has worried me. But ya it only occurs with obs running. Also that was the first time I had skype running all other tests skype wasn't on. I forgot to turn off haha. =\

Creative is really shitty when it comes to drivers, I know first hand. It doesn't help that your soundcard is quite ancient.
When I had problems with my soundcard(though not the same as yours), sometimes it helped to re-install the soundcard driver.

First I opened the Device Manager and uninstalled the Creative soundcard(with "Delete the driver software for this device" turned ON).
Then I uninstalled all the Creative software in Programs and Features.

The driver versions didn't change for a long time, but this one has official win8 support(win7 and vista too), so maybe they changed SOMETHING in it. Worth a try: http://support.creative.com/downloads/d ... adId=12659

If this does not help you might have to ask Jim or R1CH directly for support and untill then use the onboard sound if that works.

Ya I didn't realize how fucking old this sound card was when it was to late I bought it 1 year ago because my on board sound is actually not working properly. But ya good idea I'll do that see what happens.

=( nope at least I can take a lot of good information from this though my update on the sound card was def horrible now it's better and I found out my cpu was being parked so even though the sound problem isn't fixed with stuttering / dropping. I found out a lot of good information thank you :). I just used another player as well while turning skype off completely and making changes to the configuration of the speaker from 7.1 to stereo suggested by Jim the wizard earlier in the thread and ya still stuttering / drops =(. Thanks again!

Alright been awhile since I posted in here but I thought I let you guys know my progress. I decided to do a fresh re-install of my system, because both my XSPLIT(Premium) and Obs was both doing the same sound stutter. So after I re-installed I tried OBS first because I want to use obs over xsplit. Unfortunately OBS still produces the same stutter. I ran the DPC Latency Checker to see the levels they where about the same spiking to 16000~ area. So, I tried xsplit and no stutters. I figured this information would be useful for you guys since it is still a baby being developed which is better than xsplit and will take over one day I am sure! Thanks for all your help up to this point and I will check back for different versions of OBS when it is released.
