I would try activating CFR in the advanced settings in OBS. If that does not help you have to check your codecs.
As I use vegas pretty much for all my edited videos I can say it works fine :) Vegas Pro 12 (64bit)

It didn't help. I'm using x264 for everything else on my PC and it works fine.
I can open Xsplit mp4 in Vegas properly.

Reason i think it's OBS related is that i have a storage of all my streams and up to 2 patches ago
i could open them up in Vegas flawlessly, but recently i can't. I haven't changed anything else.

I can open other mp4 files in Vegas by the way.

I don't think it was related to OBS versions, but you can download older versions here to verify: https://github.com/jp9000/OBS/releases

If it does work with an older version, let me know specifically which version it works with so I know where to check in the code and fix it for you.

I've tried everyone down until 0.542b and none could show the video in Vegas which is strange.
I've noticed that .mp4 files produced by OBS have 2 sets of profiles (http://puu.sh/7uD9v.png)
One Main@L3.2 and one for the container.
In other mp4 files I've done it looks like this: http://puu.sh/7uDdy.png
Maybe Vegas doesn't like 2 different profiles in one file?

Let's see a log file. I have heard that certain resolutions don't work with vegas.

I googled on how to get logfiles for Vegas and i stumble upon OBS forums again and i read a post by you.
If you don't enable both AAC and CFR (in advanced), sony vegas will have issues. They both have to be used.
I switched to AAC and now it works flawlessly in Vegas again. Video and Audio is coming up.
You can mark this one as Solved :).
