Bug Report USB Microphone Problem (post patch 8/15)

I'm not sure what exactly is causing it - system sounds are fine, but my microphone has a sporadic stutter every once in a while with the sound... it's almost like it just cuts off for a split second and sounds like a little, but annoying, pop. I can't find a sure-fire way to reproduce it yet. I am not using noise gate at this time. From what I've read, this patch has some improvements for the USB microphones... So, idk. I did not have issues (other than slight delay) with my USB snowball mic before the patch. BTW, microphone is functioning fine on other programs (skype, windows sound recorder).

Thanks, Jim!

Given this is free software, you guys do a great job. The world needs more support/dev teams like this.

Thanks again,

New build should be available for auto update next time you start up OBS, if you haven't grabbed it already.

My girlfriend is streaming right now on Twitch with her Blue Snowball, but is still having problems with her mic randomly dropping. She says OBS will just suddenly not even recognize there is a microphone (the green volume levels won't move while she's talking and is totally grayed out) for a few moments. Then it'll just randomly kick back on without her having to do anything.

She is defintely on the latest v0.551b and is still having these issues.

EDIT: she just wrapped up and it happened about 6 times in 2 hours.

Use the "Mic Sync Hack" in advanced if you have that mic, it's the only option that works at the moment

Just an update:
When I use the "mic sync hack" ... the popping is still there...

When I don't use the "mic sync hack" ... no popping, just slight delay (as before 8/15 patch).

I noticed the guy above me said his gf was using the blue snowball mic as well ... however, I'm not noticing my mic cutting completely out when I don't use "mic sync hack" ...

Thanks in advance!
