0.48.011 introduces new device and sound code which should fix a variety of issues. Note that 0.48.011 may still be unstable, not sure yet

Elgato devices: Elgato devices should now be in sync as long as you use the "Use buffering" option in the device settings. You might need to specify a buffer time such as 100-200 milliseconds, but it should also automatically buffer at 0.

Blackmagic devices: Certain blackmagic devices that had sounds static/popping should now work correctly. You may have to use the "Use buffering", though I doubt it's necessary.

USB devices that had no sound: Certain capture devices that had no sound should now be able to select sound through the sound device selection list. Select the appropriate sound for that device and it should play for the device. This probably applies mostly to many USB devices.

This started to happen in this version. This crash is reproducible, at least for me.

EDIT2: Right, sorry if I posted in the wrong forum/thread.

EDIT3: I also seem to get "device is being used by another application" or something similar even though OBS is the only software I've opened that could of make use of the device so I'm not sure what's going on there. Maybe someone else with the device can confirm this... It happens if you preview the stream, stop the preview, then preview the stream again, it can possibly happen in other kind of situations as well, not sure.

Re: UPDATE: Device/sound update 0.48.01x - also, Elgato devi

You might need to drop by so I can see the problem. Also you don't have to use edit, if you use edit I won't realize that you've made updates because it'll show the thread as unchanged to me, but thanks for the info

I prefer editing over double posting though! But yeah I understand. I'll drop by sometime later, just PM me when you got time and where you want me to be at. I see that you also released a new version which I'll get into testing later.

Re: UPDATE: Device/sound update 0.48.01x - also, Elgato devi

Well I just tested this, I have one of the USB devices with no sound (pinnacle 710-USB) and its not listed in the audio devices, so I don't get audio from it, anyway thanks for all the updates, if there is anything I can do to help just tell me.

btw I dont know if it helps but in FME I can select my device in the audio and I get audio from it

Re: UPDATE: Device/sound update 0.48.010 - also, elgato devi

Trying to add any Video Capture source of input (Elgato Game Cap HD is the only one connected) causes 32bit OBS to hang, no matter which version of OBS I try.

EDIT: Issue is resolved; had nothing to do with the Elgato device.
The culprit was ASUS Virtual Camera. See: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3229

Re: UPDATE: Device/sound update 0.48.01x - also, Elgato devi

As far as I know, the AverMedia Live Gamer HD has never had any sound issues. If you are using a different input for sound than for video (for instance component for video and HDMI for sound) you need to open the crossbar for the device and select the proper audio pin, or manually select the HDMI audio component as your sound device for it.

eNakiruh - C985? No, that works fine, I have one myself. You might be doing something wrong if it's not working.

The -1 error should be fixed.

Also in 0.48.013 the elgato issues should be fixed as well (hopefully, for the love of all that's holy. I hate their god forsaken filter)

Encountered a crash a few hours ago. The error came up asking if I'd like to view the log, but OBS was still going. Once I clicked to focus on a different window, OBS actually crashed entirely.

Have you tried contacting Elgato directly about the filter issues?
They know of OBS, so they could probably assist you.

Re: UPDATE: Device/sound update 0.48.01x - also, Elgato devi

Hello. I am using OBS with Elgato game capture HD, everything works fine. However, the audio does cut out for a split second sometimes. Is there any workaround? or is this a known problem?

well even though it's frustrating, it's still probably my problem. there's probably something wrong with my code somewhere, so I just need to make sure the filter graph is being properly constructed/terminated. there might be a leak in the graph

I know the thread is a month old, but I just wanted to give a small update.
I've been streaming for almost 8 hours now, and OBS has yet to crash due to the Elgato filter (Test version v0.51.01b).
Thank you to everyone who makes this wonderful piece of software possible.
