Question / Help Supported / Recommended Capture cards?

Greetings!

I am interested in capturing old standard RCA video from old consoles just as much if not more so than modern HD systems. I have been able to get my Roxio USB card to function with OBS by modifying the resolution down to 480X480 30 FPS but I can't get the game window to stretch to full screen, I lose some visible area. Also, 480X480 will not suffice for all of my consoles.

I was looking into a pci express card, since USB is always less direct (slower and less powerful) of a connection to a computer.

I wondered if this:

Is supported in OBS and if I can use it for not only newer modern consoles but also older ones as well. (It appears to have connector cables that support RCA inputs as well as the more modern inputs.)

The other option I saw which seems less appealing is a USB capture device that does up to 720X576:

Anyways, I don't mind using multiple capture cards if needed, just trying to figure out how I can get the freedom of capturing an 8 bit Nintendo, A sega saturn / PSone / PS2 and even modern day consoles and I don't want to purchase something only to find out later OBS doesn't support it.

One final note:

OBS ROCKS. I was AMAZED. The color key chroma key settings work BETTER than Xsplit! Yes... BETTER! I get a crisp, clean keying with OBS vs a craptastic one with Xsplit when using the non typical chroma key colors. (I use purple screen.)

Any help and advice is appreciated. It's very important to me that I use the real, original consoles. Direct names of capture cards that are compatible are much appreciated.

Thanks!

Honestly I think the best card to use with OBS is the AverMedia LiveGamer HD...as far as i know, OBS was basically coded for it. Amazon usually has the best prices on it, got mine for about 170 and ive been very happy with it.

The StarTech card is a very good one, drivers and color are a lot better than the LGHD, but it doesn't support SD video formats and only up to 1080i over HDMI. (Not that most current gen console games run at 1080p anyway.)

The StarTech card supports HDMI (no HDCP, no news there), DVI, VGA, component, and even 15KHz RGB from various consoles with some tinkering. If getting a StarTech for those and say a Dazzle or an ezcap for composite and S-Video, I would definitely recommend that.
