Question / Help Sony Vegas 11 vs 12

Is there really that huge of a difference between Sony Vegas 11 and 12, in terms of viability for your recorded movies from OBS? I've tried to import my recent videos into 11, but i keep on getting this error (v0.522b):
Warning: A error occured while loading the project file.
The file is most likely corrupted or in a unknown format.

File A:\Movies\LocalRecording - Dajova\2013-05-14-2056-51.mp4 could not be opened.
Anyone have tried to open a recorded file in 12 and actually made it to open?

(It's actually not a local recording, this was streamed. But I'm using the same folder for just recording and livestreaming)

Yes the files are known to work on with vegas 12. try the flv container if it doesn't open with mp4.
Whoa, Vegas 12 can open FLVs? That's news to me...not even Premiere Pro CS6, Adobe's own video editing program, can open FLVs as far as I know.

I have 12 as well, but haven't installed it yet. Just wanted to confirm it before i go ahead and do it :)

Btw do you use CFR (constant frame rate)? CFR solves many problems related to editing softwares and may fix the Vegas 11 error.

Yes i do. Still doesn't help :)

Anyway, gonna go ahead and install vegas 12, since 11 itself seems to be the issue here.

Okay :p

Obs files works fine in my Vegas pro 12 (bought license so i have all the latest updates fixes. Got it for really cheap via school :p ) as long as i use cfr. Without cfr it works but sometimes audio is horrible desynced. It's because Vegas does not support variable frame rate and it puts the video in fixed constant fps without doubling the frames. So if there is part with like 15 fps it shows at like 2x speed when the vegas project is set to 30fps. Audio still keeps going at normal speed since fps doesn't affect in it.
