Bug Report Scenes without capture card play no audio at all

I have an avermedia card and I need the Waveout renderer in order to prevent crackling due to the way windows handles things (see: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/static-popping-noise-while-using-extremecap-u3.9752/#post-54962). I also have the stream set to send audio to the desktop so music can be played. Apparently doing so means any scene that does not have a capture card in it streams no audio at all, the viewers hear nothing, despite me hearing music through my speakers. OBS shows no audio activitiy whatsoever. So if I switch to a be right back scene without the capture card in it and have music playing on the desktop, the audience hears nothing at all.

Can this be fixed in the next update?

This can't be fixed, sorry. I suggest dealing with the crackly noise (assuming it goes away) for a period of time at the start. Also yes, this problem is most likely caused by using the capture card as a global source, since it mutes its sound when you switch to a scene where it's not present, and the WaveOut renderer directly affects the host application's volume control.

This is another "Windows, y u do dis" situation, which will be remedied in one way or another in obs-studio, where we will have the option to NOT use either the built-in DirectShow DirectSound or WaveOut renderers.

As a workaround you could add the card to every scene and move it off scene / behind other elements.
