Question / Help Problems while recording gameplay

I've been using OBS to record footage of my games, and have been having an annoying problem with many different games. When I record, the OBS window shows the game in the upper left corner of the window, and black bars along the bottom and right sides ONLY. I have no idea what's causing this, and have checked my resolutions and aspect ratios. My monitor is native 1600x900, and that's what I have both the games and OBS set to. Can anyone help with this?

(If this is caused by something simple, and/or I'm being an idiot, please don't hesitate to tell me)

What I do when I want to make sure I grab the proper resolution whenever selecting a new primary source is that I first begin setting it as a Window Capture, using the "Set Base Resolution" of that particular option to set the resolution to the exact resolution of whatever it is I want to capture. Then I cancel the Window Capture and add it as a Game Capture.

Alternatively you can rightclick a source during Preview > Edit Scene and set its size to fit the screen.
