Bug Report Pop up window problem

Everytime I run the program a pop window comes up every click I use. It spams " Unable to create the file output stream, Check the file path in broadcast settings." I tried to fix it but the pop up will not allow me.


I downloaded an older version and it works and then I thought updating it to the new version but it just did the same thing. Please help :l

That error means that the path you specified in Broadcast Settings for where to save the file is wrong. Double check that setting to make sure it is right.

I can't, it keeps popping up and it will not allow me to go into settings at all or click anything else on the program.

You probably set your start streaming hotkey to your mouse button or something equally silly. Goto your %APPDATA%\OBS\profiles and edit your .ini directly to remove the file path or hotkey.

uhmm how do I do that ? Sorry I am not the best with computers.

Open a Windows Explorer window and go to c:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\OBS\profiles and find the INI that corresponds to the profile that you are using in OBS (this might just be "Untitled").

Open the INI file and search for "StartStreamHotkey". Change the line so it says "StartStreamHotkey=" and nothing after it, and then save.

nope it did not work. If I download an older version again and change the hot key would that work somehow?

Do you have OBS set to start streaming upon opening the app? Check your shortcut and see if "-start" is at the end of the target.

I had the same problem delete the OBS file and re-download should fix
