Hi,
i am using OBS for a coupl emonths now to stream WoW, it has been working without problems until the last update.
Since then i am getting a black screen. I switched WoW to DX9, whcih fixed it, but would like to fix it for DX11.
I also updated the NVIDIA driver in between, so maybe this is causing also issues. log is attached from a couple sessions.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Can you verify if the version is at cause? Older versions are on sourceforge downloads, can be accessed via the download page.

Also, keep in mind that every time you test a new version, you'll need to restart the game, because the hook does not unload until the game has been unloaded.

That log is from an old version of OBS, so what exactly do you mean by "last update"?

By last update i mean the automatic update request offered by OBS when starting up.
I restarted everything multiple times (a DX change within WoW only takes effect when restarting anyways).
I ll have a look at differrnt versions.

I am running 0.592b and its having the blackscreen issue.open. i am attachinga new log again, which is definitaly from the aforementioned version. I am also pretty certain the previous log is from that version too, no idea why it seems a wrong version.

I have also now installed older versions, however the issue persists. Maybe it has something to do with the new Nvidia driver? Any other ideas?

Ok, after using the update feature again, streams are working now, just the preview is a blackscreen.

AAre you sure that you have game capture set to capture the right window? It seems like it's not capturing anything. (I relaly need to make it log that)

If you continue to have problems I would probably recommend running the game in borderless/windowed mode and using window capture, though game capture should work fine on world of warcraft. I'll check in with some other people to make sure it's working properly.

I have the same issue using game capture with WOW. I have no problems using full screen with other games using game capture.

Edit: So further testing revealed that it will show up when I record, but it doesn't show up in preview mode. I'm using Windows 8.1 with a i7 2600k and a EVGA 780ti classified.

But if it shows up when you record it -should- show up in preview, that doesn't make much sense. I'm confused. Also, apparently according to krazy, he couldn't capture it without using the game capture hotkey.

That's what confused me. I've never had that issue with my GTX 670. I just upgraded to the 780 Ti. I'm not sure if it's a driver issue or something. I'm running 331.93, the latest beta driver. I did a complete clean install of both OBS and the NVidia Drivers as well.

0.60 fixed my problem, had same annoying problem in 0.59
one thing to mention is in the settings, i have two graphic card, which works well in the old settings, in 0.59 choose neither of them work, then i did switch it back(the old one which record very well).
But after i upgrade to 0.60 as this thread said it works, mine still black screen at first, checked my settings again, found another graphic card option(have the same name ), changed to the graphic card with the same name, everything works!
hope this will help to people who had the same problem as mine

Having the same problem with Saints Row 3. Basically any DX11 game is nearly impossible to capture using fullscreen.

Edit: Whoops just got an update, fixed it :)

I'm getting a black screen on FFXIV stream too. I just started using obs so I don't know how to use the log to see where the error is.
