Bug Report OBS Crashing on Preview/Switching Scenes

Hi,

OBS continues to crash on me.

I think a reinstall might be in order, but I was hoping to save settings and all my scenes/sources. I have quite a bit going on so I'd hate to re-do it all.

Thanks for your input!

It looks like you are using a GIF image that is corrupt in one of your scenes. Try posting the GIF here for someone to check (make sure you upload it in a .zip, hosting it on an image sharing site might alter the file).

Hi Rich,

I have about 55 gifs running, I know this is a lot. the crashes are spontaneous however, and don't always occur. Usually I just have to reopen the program a few times and then itll work fine.

I'll try switching things out soon and seeing if that helps. Thanks for pin pointing my issue!

Best,
Dan

Thanks for including your crash dump by the way. I took a look and it appears surskit.gif is the one causing problems. If you could add that to a .zip file and upload it here it would be helpful. The crash appears to be accessing invalid memory, so it may sometimes work fine (and produce incorrect behavior) and may sometimes crash outright which explains the randomness.

Actually this looks like an inherent problem in the GIF decoder regardless of the GIF file. Your use of many GIFs is likely triggering it more frequently than other people. It will be fixed in the next release.

Fair enough! I've created the .zip file you requested anyway. This file contains a number of .gifs I use for Shiny Pokemon in my layout. While I'm not using everything in this file all at once, my current layout contains about 54 gifs concurrently. This number will continue to increase as my series on Twitch progresses.

(Too big to attach)

I have used this many in the past on my old computer and never had an issue (that I linked back to the gifs anyway) I would have crashes around ~6 hours of streaming and my audio would stop working on my computer and I'd be forced to put the computer to sleep and wake it back up to fix the issue. Regardless, new computer now and that doesn't seem to be an issue anymore.

Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.
Also, if it's possible, it would be awesome if there was a way to copy Sources and make duplicates within a Scene. The reason I ask for this is often I create text labels for Nicknames on my layout and it would be incredibly time saving if I could just copy the same settings of the text over and over and ultimately just change the actual text of the output.

Thanks a ton!
