Bug Report OBS Crashing. No idea why

Hello OBS forum,

When I stream CS:GO I get a OBS crash randomly. Sometimes I can stream for about two minutes and sometimes up to 10, but I always get that one crash.


Crash Log:

OBS has encountered an unhandled exception and has terminated. If you are able to
reproduce this crash, please submit this crash report on the forums at

This crash appears to have occured in the 'c:\program files\obs\libx264-142.dll' module.

When I use Nvidia NVENC as a coder I don't get over 300kb/s. Therefore I need to use x264.

According to the log it's the x264 codec that is faulty. Do you stream with a capture card?

Give me some more information, do you get the crash when you play games, stream casually etc? Give me a screenshot of your advanced settings on OBS.

I am streaming atm. Nothing happens unless I start CS:GO. Been streaming 20min hanging around on the internet, but as soon as I start CS:GO everythings crashes. :/

What source do you stream with? The Game Capture source is having problems with CS:GO since the last update. Try to use screen capture or windowcapture. Use that as a workaround until a new update arrives.

Your system is faulty, either overheating, bad RAM or bad overclock.
