Bug Report OBS Crashed, FLV corrupted (using Kinect from XBOX360)

Hi,

This has happened to me before:

I'm using the Kinect cam from Xbox 360 as an additional camera on my streams and sometimes, during the stream, usually within the first 15 minutes it just freezes. Once it does and I'm streaming and recording to MP4 - if I stop streaming and recording, OBS will freeze, force-quit and then the recording of the stream will not be playable in any way.

I've tried to recover it with Video Repair Tool and all sorts of other programs including an internet service that wanted almost 300 USD to fix it, but the previews of the video looked promising.

NOW, I decided to record in .flv, so I changed the Broadcast Settings to output both files to .flv, and the problem is even worse. The .flv from my last stream after OBS crashed isn't recognised by anything, including FLV Extract (it just says 'the file is not an FLV file') with ffmpeg.

I honestly don't know what to do at this point...

Any help would be really appreciated!

Is the .flv very large? If it's not, mayb upload it to a file sharing site, so we can see what's going on with the file.
VLC doesn't open the file either?

The file is 1.5 GB... I could wetransfer it I guess? :)

I'm attaching the log report which I HOPE was generated at the moment of the crash last night.
The stream started around 00:10:00 and ended at 01:26:00

The entire file is empty. It seems unlikely OBS would write a bunch of 0s to the disk, this may be the result of antivirus or other things interfering with file output.

Hi R1CH,

Thank you for the reply, I think I found the culprit.

Basically I'm using 2 webcams:
1 - Genius Widecam F100,
2 - Kinect from xbox360 connected through a kinect-to-usb port and power cable.

Everytime I'd start previewing the stream in OBS with both video sources from both cameras going, it's all fine. But if I record or record+stream - after 5 or 10 minutes, the Kinect feed just freezes. At that point I know that if I try to stop streaming, recording, look at Settings or try to close OBS - the OBS window will just freeze and I'd have to force close it.

At that point the stream abruptly stops and any recording that has been made until then becomes the file attached above - empty bytes taking space. Weird thing is that I have tested this with while recording straight to MP4 before and after OBS force-closed I got MORE data partially recovered from the video file than from an FLV.

TL;DR: DON'T use Kinect with OBS.

P.S. Bought a different webcam today to replace Kinect, streamed, recorded, no problems at all.
