Hi Folks,
For the last couple of weeks, I've been streaming The Long Dark. Since streaming, viewers have reported intermittent microphone cuttouts - especially when I am outside (strong sounds of winds blowing and elemental effects), though just being outside seems to cause the cutting out regardless of the weather. There are no cuttouts when I am zoned into a building (out of the world) or when the game is paused.
Within that period, I've also noticed instances when OBS fails to react to me pushing my PTT key. I either have to reinitialize or restart the stream. This seems to have subsided since replacing the headset -- I went from a USB wireless headset to a wired USB headset. However, the cutting out has persisted, and I'm inclined to treat the "failure to react" as an active issue as well.
Things I have tried:
- Changing headset USB port, across various 2.0 ports, to 3.0.
- Replacing the headset
- Completely lowering game audio (suspecting the strong sound of wind was interfering somehow)
- Changing audio device from "default" to specific device.
- Facedesking.
Any input would be appreciated.
Best,
RB
