As the title reads, i have issues with streaming games but only when i have the game window selected. When i have the game selected, immediately the stream will drop every frame and the bandwidth usage skyrockets far beyond what i have it set to currently. However, when i alt tab (I play almost exclusively in windowed mode with a second monitor as my main) the stream puts out the game as clear as day at 60 FPS. The same issue occurs if i am alt tabbed but my mouse cursor moves over the game window without selecting it. My stream and PC specs are as follows:
Computer Specs:
-8Gigs DDR3 RAM
-Windows 7 64-bit OS
-Intel i7-3610QM Processor ("8" cores @ 2.30 GHz)
-Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M graphics card
Network Specs:
-Average download speed: 50 MB per second
-Average upload speed: 11 MB per second
OBS Settings:
-Encoding: Using CBR, Quality balance locked at 10, max bitrate set at 3500kb/s, not using custom buffer size.
-Video: Using GTX660M, Using custom base resolution due to the fact that i am doing a game capture as opposed to monitor (set to 1920 by 1080), Downscaled to 1280 by 720, filter used is "Bicubic Sharper", FPS is set to 60. Disable Aero at startup is NOT selected.
-Advanced: Only two selected options are "Use CFR" and "Use Multithreaded Optimizations", priority is set to above normal, scene buffering time is the default 400 ms, x264 CPU preset is on the standard "very fast". All other options are either the default or have not been selected.
I am using the Software Capture option as my source, using it to capture a window as opposed to a monitor. All other aspects of that setting have been untouched.
If any additional information is required to help resolve this issue then ill be happy to provide it. It should be noted that i have had this issue since day 1 of trying to use OBS, I've tried clean re-installs several times but nothing has seemed to make a difference.
