Question / Help Is 2 Upload good enough to stream 480p+?

Hi,

Currently i have twc and using 15down1up. I'm planning on upgrading to 20down2up just for the purpose of streaming at around 480p+. Is it possible to stream league of legends with this without lagging? What's the max I can stream at?

(My computer specs are really good, only issue is internet). Just wanted to know before I upgrade!

Thanks

Im streaming LoL 480p with upload 0.47 (ping 36ms in game :D) with bitrate 330kbps + 64kbps audio. But remember that people dont like watching streaming in low quality.

with 2Mbps upload you can stream easily 480p at 1300-1400 Kbps (i recommend using CBR) with like 160Kbps AAC audio which is high quality for 480p. Will look good and most of the viewers won't look it in fullscreen anyway so the quality will be great for the normal sized Twitch mediaplayer.

I'm slightly concerned because atm I can only set it at 600 Kbps with 1 upload. I can set it higher too but my in game ping in things like league of legends will skyrocket throughout most of the game (I'll be at like 300 ms the entire game).

Well, the game needs some bandwidth too. But as you get more, it becomes less of an overall problem:
-1mbps (1000kbps): 500kbps stream (50%), 500kbps for the game (50%).
-2mbps (2000kbps): 1500kbps stream (75%), 500kbps game (25%).

When your bandwidth increases, the demand from the game doesn't. It stays the same. You just have more that you can give to the stream, essentially. (In your case, it's only 400kbps for good performance from the game; bumped it to 500 to give more 'wiggle room' and to make the example math easier/more readable.) So yes, when you have 2mbps, you'll be able to set your stream to 1600mbps, and get (roughly) the same performance from the game as you get now with only 600 to the stream.

500kbps is still too much for League of Legends. This game needs max. 150kbps

150Kbps is only a recommendation. Little extra isn't bad. And there wont be 500Kbps for the game. 2000Kbps total bandwidth, streaming 1500Kbps, also audio eats bandwidth and then communication with friends so after all that the game has about 200Kbps bandwidth to use so that sounds right.
