Hybrid mp4 is a lie

In the last month I've had two power outages while recording. Both times my, supposedly, robust and "designed to prevent issues like file corruption during power outages" Hybrid mp4 recording is totally unusable in any software. The only thing I can do is view it with VLC. So to edit and upload that video I had to record my screen like a monkey.

Am I doing something wrong or is this file type doesn't do what it supposed to do at all?

If VLC plays it, it is a success. With regular MP4 the file would have been lost and unrecoverable. Other software just need support for such files. Have you tried remuxing such a file with OBS?

I did try both times and all I got was
"Recording remuxed, but the file may be incomplete"
And I don't even get my remuxed file saved at all
