Question / Help HDMI Converter Capture?

I have in older iMac that does not have a mini hdmi. I do have a convertor for it though. So I can play my Xbox One on my mac using a converter. I press Command + f2 and it switches over. I noticed that OBS does not capture this screen though. Is there something I can do to capture this or am I just SOL?

P.S. My goal is to not spend $$$ until I have tried the streaming thing and decided I want to do more.
