Question / Help Hardware Encoder ?

Live gamer HD encoder sucks, it's not worth the effort. Intel QuickSync on the other hand... I'm tinkering with it right now, but don't hold your breath :)

I'm not going to implement the hardware encoder on the avermedia. Quicksync is a different story but I don't have any plans on personally doing that any time soon either, but others are apparently going to try it so maybe they will be able to pull it off

Hmm I think with implementing Quicksync you would improve the software a lot because many of the gamers use modern i7 cpus and this would reduce their cpu usage a lot.But I dont know how it works, so I can understand when its much work for just one feature.

Also agree about Gamer HD, that was mainly just a coordinated thing with Xsplit.

There is also the option of GPU assisted encoding through OpenCL. There are a few encoders with look ahead available for that already out, but I don't know how to turn them into a .dll for OBS. That's been ongoing for awhile on doom9 as well as other websites.

AMD and Nvidia also have their own versions of Quicksync, so even if you don't have a iGPU you could still purchase one of those cards and use it for that. OpenCL works with all three vendors.
