Question / Help Avermedia Live Gamer HD issue

So I've been using the Live Gamer HD with OBS and streaming, it works quite well. Just one small issue.

I haven't been able to find all the causes of this issue but a definite one is when I use it to capture my PC any fullscreen game.

Here's the hardware setup:
PC (one monitor), Consoles - HDMI switch -HDMI splitter - HDMI to DVI converter (Bye Bye HDCP) - HDMI to HDMI+stereo audio (allows me to be more flexible with audio) - Avermedia Live Gamer HD

Now normally this doesn't bother me if it happens on console when something gets switched because if I just tick and untick the Aver in OBS and it's all good again.

The issue is if it's a fullscreen game clicking on my other monitor causes it to minimize (which is when I get my desktop looking totally normal).

Also just to prove the hardware is all functioning correctly here's a picture I took with the Avermedia Live Gamer HD using RECentral (their program) of that very same screen.

UPDATE: I read around and decided to give the 32 bit version of OBS a shot. Same issue.

When you go into the properties of the LGHD source, what resolution does it say it is using?

1280 x 720 in every menu I can find.

Although I am new to OBS, I might have missed something.

Weird. Try selecting the source and hitting Ctrl + R and then Ctrl + F to see if that resets the aspect ratio somehow.

The problem with that is to do that I need to make OBS the active window which minimizes the game and the desktop looks fine.

Then my guess is you're playing SF4 in fullscreen with a different resolution and aspect ratio than your desktop, so when you go in game, it changes the output that OBS sees.

What are your video settings in SF4? Can you try matching your desktop resolution? Does the game have a Borderless Windowed mode instead of fullscreen?

Here's the real kicker: My desktop is 1080p, just about every game I run is 1080p. I'm 1080p-ing it all day!

Most of my games don't have borderless window. I wish they did. I hate fullscreen.

If your game is running at 1080p, your LGHD should be running at 1080p also, not 720p.

Do this:

* In your video settings, set your resolution to 1920x1080, and downscale to 1280x720.
* Delete the existing Live Gamer HD source, and re-add the video capture device.
* In the properties of the video capture device, when you are actually selecting the Live Gamer HD, make sure that the resolution in the "Video" sub-section of the screen says 1920x1080 for the resolution.

The Live Gamer HD is known for its flexibility you can give it 1080p and capture it in 720p or a whole host of resolutions really. The reason I do 720p is so that at the very least the initial signal is 60fps making for smoother video.

Now I'm not sure how or why but now with the exact same settings today it works perfectly fine. So... yeah. How about that?

Hmmm i don't know what kind of window pops up when you double click the source (LGHD). But anyway if there is settings similar to Game Capture like "stretch" and "ignore aspect ratio", you may have stretched the image in "Edit scene" mode? (Ignore this if these settings doesn't exist)

E: oops there was page number 2 lol :D ignore.
