4K streaming

Hello!
I have Logitech Brio and AverMedia PW513 web cameras, both 4K. So it possible to stream 2160p. But I can’t find such settings in OBS, just 1440p.
Is it possible to stream 2160p, how?

If you want to stream in 4K resolution, then it is better to create a key to stream on YouTube in 4K. This way you will stream at a resolution of 2560x1440, and YouTube itself will stretch the image to 3840x2160. Use this life hack

This will reduce the load on the encoder and the impact on performance. Also use NVENC AV1 if you have an RTX 40 series.

If you want to specify 3840x2160 in OBS, which I wouldn't recommend, you can just specify it manually. Remove the output resolution and just specify the required .

Even on your screenshot it says that “YouTube automatically detects a stream’s resolution and frame rate.” That is, if there is a 1440p/2160p stream, does YouTube perceive it that way? So why to create a special key?

According to my observations, the load on the encoder decreases noticeably if the bitrate is increased, so I always set it to 50000 Kbps or more. I assume that in this case the stream from the camera may not be recoded at all.

I mean not output (scaled) resolution but canvas resolution. I want 4K stream from camera go to output without scaling. But how can I set canvas or output resolution manually? I see only drop-down lists (see my screenshots).

I understood you. Firstly, your base resolution is incorrectly specified. Correct 2560x1440 (not 2561). The base resolution depends on the monitor resolution. If the maximum resolution of your monitor is 2560x1440, then this is exactly what you should indicate. In any case, you can manually change the base resolution.

My monitor resolution is 1920x1080, but this field can be edited, although it will not be correct for me.

Thank you. It's funny, I didn't even try to correct these values, although apparently I did it once and made a typo (2561)
